Description: By Eric Loveday, Press & Guide Intern PUBLISHED: February 20, 2005 DEARBORN - WDHS, the student video program at Dearborn High School will debut its latest and last film, "Exposing Joe," on April 12, 2005 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. Created by Dearborn High student Spooky Joe Wakefield & his teacher, "Exposing Joe" is a 50-minute tale about the trials and tribulations of a young man who is facing good and evil. The lead character, Joe, is surrounded by his cohorts Dell and Cliff, and his gambling addicted uncle, Mickey. Joe, a virtuoso billiard player, uses his billiard skills to help pay off his uncle Mickey's debt. Joe picks up his uncle's gambling addiction, but is saved from the harsh surroundings by his girlfriend Ariel. The cast includes: Spooky Joe Wakefield as Joe, the lead male character; Ashley Wright as Ariel, the lead female character; Stephen Taylor-Wehr as Cliff, Dean Young as Dell, Amber Golembiewski as Sandy, Tony Weiblehaus as Uncle Mickey, and Joseph Higgins as the pool player "The Turk." The production began in August, and filming started at the beginning of the school year in September. The students worked weekends and weeknights at the state-of-the-art studio at Dearborn High. The WDHS studio is open to students at any time of day or night. "Exposing Joe" was directed by Alex Kus, and produced by Stephen Taylor-Wehr and Ben Bock. Credit for sound design goes to Brian Stone and Andrew Johnson. Molly Sharp and Francesca Daddio were production supervisors. Alex Mamalakis was the site coordinator and event planner. In cooperation with the community, WDHS did portions of the filming on location. The pool hall scenes were filmed at the Tenny Street Roadhouse, 22361 West Village Dr. The bank heist scenes were filmed at the DSCU Bank 6246 Chase Rd. WDHS instructor Kurt Doelle wrote the script that is based upon the real life of Joseph Wakefield, a student in several of Doelle's classes. Wakefield complained bitterly about never getting a chance to push his creative talents. "I promised him that if he was sincere, I would write a script about a dramatized version of himself and set him in a gritty environment with loads of drama to showcase his acting," Doelle said, According to Doelle, "Wakefield responded with enthusiasm and vigor, and provided me with ideas, contacts, and others who shared his vision." For WDHS, "Exposing Joe" will be the seventh and final film produced. Doelle and the students of WDHS would like to thank Mayor Michael Guido for securing a date and location to air "Exposing Joe." According to Doelle, all of the profits go back to the program. "This film is the last due to the fact that I'm tired," Doelle said. "This takes up virtually every weekend of the school season, and it does detract time away from the other students, in addition to the cost and equipment needs." According to Doelle, greater emphasis will be placed on alternative projects that are more diverse in st
